Q: What is Study With A Star?- A: Study With A Star offers live online private lessons with your favorite musicians on Skype.
- Q: How much is a lesson?
- A: A lesson is $125
- Q: How long is a lesson?
- A: A lesson is 50 minutes
- Q: Can I request a specific time and date for my lesson?
- A: Yes. You can email us here and we will pass your request to your favorite teaching artist.
- Q: What will I need for my lesson?
- A: You will need:
- A computer with a webcam
- A high speed internet connection
- Skype (You can DOWNLOAD SKYPE for free here)
- Your instrument
- Q: What happens if Skype quits during my lesson?
- A: If Skype quits unexpectedly the teacher will call you back. Every effort will be made to make sure you receive a full 50 minute lesson.
- Q: What level of expertise is required to take a lesson?
- A: There is no minimum level of expertise required. When you book a lesson we ask you a few questions about your ability and what you would like to learn during the lesson.
- Q: What is the "book" button?
- A: The "Book" button opens a calendar showing the teacher's availability.
- Q: What if I see the message: "There are no teachers available for this period of time and these options?"
- A: This means all lessons are currently booked. You can either choose another teacher or check back for new lesson times to become available.
- Q: What is the "gallery" button?
- A: The "Gallery" button opens a photo and video page related to the teacher.
- Q: What if I see the message: "This service requires cookies to be enabled in your browser."
- A: You will need to enable cookies in order to book a lesson. Click here to learn how.
- Q: How do I pay?
- A: Your payment will be handled through Paypal at the end of the booking process. PayPal accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover (You do not need a PayPal account to pay through PayPal).
- Q: What is your cancellation policy?
- A: All cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance in order to receive a refund for the price of the lesson ($125).
The processing fee ($9.95) is non-refundable. If you chose membership with your first lesson it will remain in effect for 12 months after the initial booking date and is non-refundable.
